    The most impressive and colorful festival of the country is the ancient
    festival dedicated to the arrival of spring - Novruz Bairam. It is
    celebrated for the entire month with various festivals, ceremonial and
    religious rituals , including traditional kindling of celebratory fires and
    obligatory jumping over them, holiday meals are cooked and hundreds
    of festivities take place. According to Muslim calendar Azerbaijanis
    celebrate the religious holiday called Ramazan Bairam (November-
    February) crowning traditional Islamic month Ramazan as well as
    Gurban Bairam (April) when entire country blossoms with numerous
    festivals accompanying these ancient holidays.
